Speedway SuperAmerica Uses Web Game Ticket Promotion to Drive Store Traffic, Web Page Traffic, and Build Customer Database

 

·         SSA is a gasoline/convenience chain with 2200+ locations spanning a 22 state mid-central region, broke “new ground” with its winter web page game promotion.

 

·         The promotion’s #1 objective was to build strong repeat traffic into stores for 50+ days:  Customers received game tickets with a unique 10-digit sweepstakes code. 

 

·         They were advised to either mail the code or enter the code at the SSA web site for the next day’s daily sweepstakes. EACH DAY, FOR 50 DAYS, WE SELECTED 100 WINNERS OF $100 IN FREE GASOLINE…AND WE POSTED THE WINNING NAMES TO THE WEB PAGE BY 9:00 AM, THE NEXT DAY.  

 

·         The promotion generated OVER 3.5 MM ENTRIES and YEILDED A DATABASE OF 400,000+ EMAIL ADDRESSES…a database currently in use for subsequent customer loyalty mailings.  The promotion indicated an average number of entries (visits to the store and the web page) of 8 times/entrant.

 

·         Our Role: Developed concept & creative work, provided design, game programming and hosting of the promotional micro-site, daily on-line reporting for the client, security print production of 50 mm game tickets with unique game codes, all game administration services and daily fulfillment of (100) pre-paid gasoline cards.
